WHO WE ARE
We have been building our foundation and shaping our focus around four questions:
Who are we?
Why are we here?
Where are we?
Where are we going?
These questions have helped us build a solid, biblical foundation and have guided us toward a strategic focus
to assist our churches in being what God has called us to be. We are a network of churches living out God’s mission
so that all people can be connected to Christ and His Church.
We are convinced that KCAB is a worthy investment of your time and resources.
The Gospel is what separates us from other groups accomplishing good things.
That is why we continue to focus on living out the grace of the Gospel while sharing the Gospel of grace.
We envision a day
when every KCAB church is on
God’s mission by living the grace of the Gospel and sharing the Gospel of grace.
KCAB is a network of churches
living out God’s mission so that
all people might be connected to Christ and His Church.
We place a high value on relationships that are built on Excellence and Integrity, strengthened with Unity and Cooperation, and lived out in Love and Service.
More than ever, our churches need to pray for spiritual awakening; to strengthen relationships with one another in a network focused on the common purpose of living out God's mission; and to raise up next generation leaders who are passionate about leading the church to take on a "missionary posture" right here at home and across the world.
When it comes to ekklesia missio dei, we can either "let up" or "live it out!" We believe that "live it out!" is our best option by far.
I am often asked,
“What is the Knox County Association of Baptists?”
We answer that question with the phrase Ekklesia-Missio Dei.
The word Ekklesia is used throughout the New Testament to identify the people of God as
the called out ones…the sent…the Church.
Missio Dei is a phrase that literally means the mission of God.
The Knox County Association of Baptists is a network of Baptist churches that are sent to live out the mission of God in this world.
We invite you to see this powerful video of how churches throughout our network are living out God’s mission.
Our desire is that every KCAB church will be actively living out the grace of the gospel and sharing the gospel of grace. Live it Out! has become the focus for our
Association of churches. Yet even more specifically, my heart is that we would begin to live out God’s mission together . . . united with each other in strong relationships and partnerships that move us toward this common purpose.
For this dream to become a reality, we are working on key strategic elements that will enable every church to take on a missionary posture right in their own community.
We are partnering with churches to:
Explore their communities
Encounter the people
Equip the church
Engage with the gospel
Our teams, committees, and ministries are putting a lot of energy into this strategic approach to assisting churches in becoming
Ekklesia-Missio Dei: the church on God’s mission.
As you explore our website, you will see specific ways that together we are reaching people in our county not connected to Christ and His Church and it will give you a glimpse of why I am excited and honored to serve as your Director of Missions.
The world we live in today is filled with significant changes and challenges – more so than at any other time in our lives. Yet the Gospel we bring to those in this world is just as powerful to change lives as ever before. That is why now, more than ever, we must Live it Out!
