Phil Young
Director of Missions
Phil began serving as Director of Missions in July of 2014. Prior to that, he served as Church Missions and Ministry Specialist for the Tennessee Baptist Convention. He served as a pastor for twenty years, serving churches in Texas, North Carolina and Knoxville, Tennessee.
Phil received both the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Millie Badgett
Facilities and Finance Assistant
Millie has seen many changes in the Association in 30+ years of ministry service here. She began working in 1988 as a part-time receptionist and quickly became secretary to the DOM. Over the years she has learned every position here, and is a living history record of KCAB and Knoxville churches. Her love for Christ and others is evident in her servant-minded work ethic. There is no task too small or too much trouble for her to take on. She is the engine of our office and ready to assist to accomplish our ministry work.

Travis Henderson
Director of Montgomery Village Baptist Center
Travis was brought on as the Director of MVBC at the end of 2021, and he is already doing a tremendous job. Travis is most recently the Pastor of Fairview Baptist Church in Mohawk, TN. He previously served at Glenwood Baptist Church in Powell and held several leadership positions in our Association. He and his family have been active in the ministry at Montgomery Village and bring a passion for serving the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the people in this community.

Renee Davidson
Communications and Ministry Assistant
Renee began serving as the communications and ministry assistant at the end of 2021. She performs all the publishing and communications duties and many other tasks for our churches and ministries to meet their needs. Renee was born and raised right here in Knoxville and has a heart for the people of Knoxville. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors and is working towards getting her pilot’s license.

Shannon Washam
Director of Western Heights Baptist Center
Shannon joined the KCAB team in 2004 with a growing desire to make disciples and minister to the disadvantaged. What a surprise to find the inner city to be a ripe mission field of adults and children waiting to experience the love of Christ. With a team of committed volunteers, Shannon serves the people in that area with a great passion. Shannon and his wife Jean Ann, have three energetic teenagers that sustain them in a busy lifestyle of running to games and events.

Carter Brown
Director of Camp Ba-Yo-Ca
Carter Brown has officially joined our KCAB staff as our new Camp Ba Yo Ca Director. We are so excited to have Carter as a part of our team! Pray for Carter and his family as they lead this important ministry through Camp.

Bonita Wilson
Director of Community Engagement
Bonita began serving as the Nations and Neighbors Catalyst in January, 2017, and accepted additional leadership with Project Knox and CityReach in May of 2018.
She served 23 years with the International Mission Board in Zambia, the IMB Home Office and more recently in Southeast Asia.
Bonita has a BS in Marketing from Austin Peay State University and a Masters in Religious Education from Southwestern Seminary.
Her passion is to see the local church engage lostness in their home community and among the unreached peoples of the world found here in Knox County and in their home countries.
