Building God's Kingdom with His Churches for His Glory
Truckstop MinistriesTruckstop Ministries Inc. was started in March 1981, by Joe and Jan Hunter, to bring the message of Jesus Christ to the trucking world, instead of waiting for the world to come to them. In October 2001 Truckstop Ministries opened one of its 77 chapels in the Knoxville area. The first East Tennessee chapel is located in West Knoxville at Petro’s on Watt Rd. Because of the great success (avg.20-30 salvations annually) at our Watt Rd. Location, we started looking into a second location on the east side of Knox Co. We were delighted to receive permission by the Pilot Corp. to place a chapel at their new Travel Center at I-40 and Strawberry Plains Pike. So in June 2008 the Lord blessed us with our second location.
Now we are able to serve thousands of drivers, employees, and visitors annually at two locations here in East Tennessee!
Truckstop Ministries, Inc. provides a great mission opportunity for churches and/or individuals.
Both chapels need volunteers who would be willing to give a few hours, one day a month (more if you want) to minister at either Pilot (Strawberry Plains) or Petro's (Watt Road). The hours are negotiable; however, the desired time is 6-9 PM and on weekends when most drivers are parked. The ultimate goal is to have chaplains at the chapels 24/7. Can you help?
