The Tennessee Baptist Convention entered a three-year partnership with the Iowa convention in November of 2001. Knox County Association is developing a relationship with Metro Association in Des Moines, the capital city of Iowa, with a population of more than 350,000 people and only eight Southern Baptist churches. Churches in Knox County are already being asked to form partnerships with churches in Des Moines. Obviously many new churches need to be started.
