Building God's Kingdom with His Churches for His Glory

Youth/MERGE

The 2012 MERGE will be January 13 & 14

About MERGE

In 2006, a group of youth pastors in Knoxville began to dream about an event that would energize and unify the students of their city. The MERGE concept was born! While finding youth ministers working together isn’t completely unheard of, it is unique. None of us are trying to “steal” each others students or make a name for ourselves.  We simply want to help our students see that they are not alone, and we hope to harness the synergy of multiple churches pushing one event. MERGE draws from the “Disciple Now” and “YEC” concepts to form an event that is both evangelistic and discipleship oriented, with an emphasis on service as well! Fellowship and worship are also built in. Join us and experience the excitement of all that God is doing!

Last January over 600 students from 14 different churches joined together in worship, Bible study and service.  Through MERGE, it is our goal to nurture growing relationships between indivicual students and our Savior. For some, it is an introduction weekend to the saving power of Jesus, and for others it is a time of digging deeper and finding their purpose in His greater plan.  On Saturday, students served in ministries throughout Knoxville. Some of the projects included serving food, volunteering at homeless shelters, spending time with residents at assisted living homes, and doing yard work for members of the community. In addition to serving locally, the participants gave approximately $4,500 to be donated to The Seed Company for the translation of 175 verses of the book of Matthew into the Rewe language.  Local Youth Pastors are currently busy preparing for MERGE 2012 and are excited to see how God will use our students in a new way.  If you would like to be a part of this awesome weekend, please call us.  You are welcome to be as involved as you would like!
